چکیده
In this study, several novel peptidomimetics were designed and synthesized as potential anti-inflammatory agents. Their anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated using a xylene-induced ear edema model assay. Some of the compounds demonstrated inhibitory activity against xylene-induced inflammation similar to the positive control, aspirin. *Corresponding author: Jianwei Zhang, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Capital Medical University, Beijing 100069, PRC, China, Tel: 86-10-8391-1522; Fax: 86-10-8391-1533; E-mail: [email protected] Received May 21, 2014; Accepted June 27, 2014; Published June 29, 2014 Citation: Xu G, Wang X, Zhang M, Zeng L, Li H, et al. Biosynthesis in Vitro of Hexosamine-containing Substances
1. Two distinct hexosamine-containing substances have been obtained from bovine cardiac valvular tissue which was incubated with labelled glucosamine. These were identified as mucopolysaccharides and glycopeptides respectively, both by the elution pattern from a Sephadex G-50 column and by chemical analysis. 2. In the mucopolysaccharide fraction about 80% of both the total hexosamine and total ...
متن کاملJacalin interacts with Asn-linked glycopeptides containing multi-antennary oligosaccharide structure with terminal alpha-linked galactose.
The carbohydrate binding properties of jacalin lectin were examined using RAF9 cell-derived D-[6-3H]glucosamine-radiolabeled total glycopeptides containing N-linked and O-linked oligosaccharides. The binding of N-linked glycopeptides to jacalin was abolished by treatment of alpha-galactosidase whereas O-linked glycopeptides were still bound lectin after this treatment. The removal of O-linked o...

OBJECTIVE The present study focuses on the pathogenesis of the large vessel disease in diabetes. The arterial wall from diabetic individuals displays characteristic alterations of the extracellular matrix. Other observations show that the metabolism is changed with increased levels of growth hormone in diabetes. DESIGN The effects of growth hormone on the carbohydrate composition in the basem...
متن کاملThe composition and structure of the carbohydrate of pineapple stem bromelain.
Two major components of pineapple bromelain, purified to electrophoretical homogeneity, appeared to have the same oligosaccharide group consisting of n-glucosamine, n-mannose, D-xylose, and L-fucose in ratios of 2:2: 1: 1. By exhaustive proteolysis of the bromelains, glycopeptides containing only Asx, Glx, and Ser were obtained. Periodate oxidation, methylation, and glycosidase digestion showed...
متن کاملSecreted glycoproteins of human kidney tumour cells contain sulphated complex-type oligosaccharides.
Human kidney tumour cells in culture incorporated [3H]glucosamine and 35SO4 into glycoprotein products, which were secreted into the culture medium. The effects of sodium butyrate, a known differentiation-inducing agent, on the production of these sulphated glycoproteins were studied. Cells were cultured in the absence or presence of butyrate (2 mM) in serum-containing medium, for various times...
